Imge Özbilge

Imge Özbilge is a multidisciplinary artist who grew up pendling between countries such as Austria, Spain, Turkey and the Netherlands and has settled down in Belgium.

After obtaining her BA in the Arts at the 'Istanbul Bilgi University' she continued her master studies in animation first at the 'AKV St. Joost Academy' in the Netherlands and then at KASK Royal Academy of Arts Belgium, completing her second MA.

The starting point of her work is based on research, ranging from a conceptual base to the exploration of new figurative forms. The surreal aspects in her work are inspired by Middle Eastern mythologies and miniature paintings. The references to familiar cosmopolite city sceneries and historical imagery, juxtaposed with ordinary modern objects and surreal creatures make her  animations,drawings and installation works all the more fascinating, weird and wondrous.
