Michelle Kanters

Course: Situated Design

My name is Michelle Kanters, a first-year student at MIVC. I applied to Visual Arts, but was re-assigned to Situated Design because of my bachelor in Communication and Multimedia Design. This master enables me to figure out my path between being an artist or a designer. My practice concentrates mainly on the great divide between humans and nonhumans by giving a voice to marginalized groups, including nonhumans. By doing this, I offer new views, aiming for self-reflection or consciousness. After graduation, I would like to work within artist residencies all over the world and eventually start a creative studio.
