Course: Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice

My name is Pam van Manen, I am a visual artist and poet based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. After finishing up my bachelor in design at the Utrecht School of Arts (HKU), I enrolled at the MIVC to develop my artistic practice further. The media that my work primarily consists of are photography, collage-art, poetry, spoken word and painting. With my art, I aim to show my perspective on social issues that I am passionate about; specifically, feminism, intersectionality and queerness. During my master’s I am exploring how I can use my art to explore the impact of my queerness on the relationship with my body.
