On a beautiful autumn day, quite long ago and somewhere else, a young musician boards a train and falls in love with the person sitting next to him. With his shyness blocking his path, he needs to face his wildest fears, to eventually overcome his anxiousness.

For as long as I can remember, my life has revolved around telling stories. Animation seems to be the ideal tool for me because it gives me the most control. Everything that can be seen on screen, even the smallest detail (specks of dust in the air, bird wing flapping in the background), has to be actively thought out, designed and animated. Even though I always knew that I wanted to make films one day, my path has been quite rocky, and so I first completed a (boring) management degree (teaching me business economics and statistics). However, I never lost sight of my goal, and started working on my own projects and teaching myself everything I wanted to know about animation. Various internships and 5 years of freelancing (as motion designer and cutter) later, I finally gathered all my courage and applied for the animation master's degree at the AKV st Joost. I think that I never dared to go the direct route for fear of failure and this actually happens to be the topic my graduation film deals with.
