Started teaching in Animation in 2013Peter van de Zanden studied social studies at Sociale Academie Den Bosch and photography at Fotovakschool Apeldoorn and ABV Tilburg. He runs a small company, Son et Lumiere, that facilitates audio visual projects in the cultural domain and specialises in interactive presentation.
Van de Zanden has a wide variety of professional experience. He has worked as a social worker at several youth centres, and as a photographer at the University for Architecture and Urban Design, where he ran a screen printing workshop. From 1995 until 2013 he was the Technical Supervisor for the Artist in Residencies at the Netherlands Institute for Animation Film. In this capacity he was involved with 40 animation shorts, as well as many workshops and master classes. During these years he also worked as freelance photographer, doing mainly commissioned work.
Van de Zanden currently teaches Technology at the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes of AKV|St.Joost. In addition to his work at the academy, he is an exhibition coordinator at Willem 2 Fabriek in Den Bosch, and does commissioned animation for Sesame Street, Klokhuis and various visual artists. The latter mainly involves producing (animating), editing and sound design for installation videos and animation.
